My Husband Does My Make Up TAG

So after watching a few of my favourite YouTube bloggers do the "My Boyfriend Does My Make Up'' Tag I thought that me and my husband could have a go at that. Thankfully my husband Mike wasn't too against it and we had a laugh. I won't put any spoilers on here so I'll just stop talking and let you watch it for yourself.

Tutorial - Bright Red Lip

I love to rock a bright red lip whenever I can but applying and keeping a Bright lipstick in place can be tricky. Here is how I do it and I hope you find this little tutorial useful.

Step 1 - Exfoliate
You need perfect smooth lips to pull off a bright lip colour as it will show every single line and groove of the lips. So dry flakey lips are a big no no!
I use a lip scrub from Lush in the popcorn flavour this little pot costs about £5-£6 but will last a very long time. You dip your finger in and gentle scrub across the lips and then rinse off with warm water. After this your lips can feel a little abused so onto the next step.

Step 2 - Moisturise
To soften the lips and to keep them looking their best you now need to moisterise them. I use the Nuxe Reve De Miel balm which leaves my lips feeling very hydrated and soft. For the best results leave this to sink in for approximately 10 minutes.

Step 3 - Line
This is such a important step that so many people miss out but if you do your lipstick on the inner parts of your lips will be gone within the hour. This gives the perfect base to apply your lipstick on top of and makes it last a lot longer. It also prevents any unsightly cranks forming in the colour and stops it bleeding out.
Bright lipsticks don't last very long but using a liner at least doubles the wear time so try to find one that is a similar colour to the lipstick that your using. Here I have used a Barry M lip liner in colour number 3.

Step 4 - Apply Lipstick
This works best for me with a lip brush as I feel like I have more control and can apply the lipstick with more precision.
Don't overload the lips with product or it will smudge about. Don't be afraid to make any mistakes as they can always be corrected with a makeup remover soaked cotton bud afterwards.
If you do decide to rock a bright lip I suggest carrying a compact mirror with you and the lipstick for any reapplication and to check for smudging. My red lipstick of choice is the YSL Rouge Pur Couture in shade 01 Le Rouge.

I hope some of you find this useful and if you have any tips for me please leave them in the comments below.

Benefit They're Real mascara V's Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara

These Benefit mascaras are both pretty popular and 'high end' beauty products, but if you want to part with the best part of £20 you will want to know which is best.
The brushes for the mascaras are very different the brush for the They're Real is made of rubber and has lots of small bristles to comb through the lashes covering a bigger surface area of lashes. Where as the brush for the Bad Gal Lash has more traditional thicker bristles so I personally don't think it combs through the lashes as good. This leaves it more susceptible to clumping.
Overall my favorite is the They're Real!
Please check out my youtube video of me testing them both out.

Benefit Smokin Eyes review and tutorial

Benefit Smokin Eyes is the perfect go to kit for a night out. It has 3 complementary eye shadows to give the you the perfect smokey eye look and it has a black eyeliner, mini tweezers, eyebrow wax and an eye brightener.
It includes a step by step guide of how to apply and it's nice and compact to keep in your handbag to go from plain Jane by day to a sexy siren at night.
Just beware of fakes on ebay as there are a lot about at the minute especially of this kit do I would recommend buying direct from Benefit or from one of there counters in Boots or Debenhams.
If you are unsure whether to part with £28.50 for this or not just get a free demo of it at your local counter as they will try a tester on you for free to see if you like it or not.
Please check out my youtube tutorial of this below where I go through It step by step.

Benefit She's So Jetset gift set

This is such a pretty limited edition set but unfortunately it is sold out in the UK. So I ordered it from Benefit USA and got it shipped over. The set was $36 and $18 shipping but it is worth it.
I love how it has a bit of everything in it and you can just get ready with this and nothing else if you wanted too.
It comes with:
* Porefessional face balm
* 4 complementary eye shadow since golds and browns.
* A 2 part face powder which you can mix to apply all over the face as it is very light or you can use the colours separate as a blusher and a highlighter.
* They're real black mascara.
* Life on the A list lip gloss, this is a light pink.
I love how it comes with a lesson booklet too as in it it suggests ways of using the different eye shadows for daytime and night time looks.
Please check out my YouTube video of me un boxing and using this set. :-)
